The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has made adjustments to the lives of millions of people around the world. If you are lucky enough to work remotely from home, you have probably thought about how to arrange your workspace more than once. If the house has a separate room for an office and all the necessary furniture, then this problem is unlikely to be so acute. In this article, we will consider the question of how to organize a home office if there is no specially designated place for it. And, of course, the "Your Interior" company is concerned not only with the functional, but also with the aesthetic side of the issue.

Our homes have much less space than a traditional office, but there are more distractions (a comfortable bed, a turned-on TV, a refrigerator). Therefore, it is very important to find a secluded "corner" for work without distraction. What can be done?

One of the most successful solutions, in our opinion, will be to locate the office on a closed balcony or loggia. To create a more cozy space, order curtains for the balcony/loggia in our salon.

If it is not possible to set up an office on the balcony, then it is necessary to establish boundaries. We recommend zoning your "office" to separate it from the living space. This will help you switch to "office mode" and increase productivity. To zone the room, you can use:

  • Any partition (for example, a bookshelf)
  • A different wall color
  • Wallpaper in the study, with which it is easy to create the desired working atmosphere

If, for various reasons, the home office will still be in plain sight, then we recommend that you fit it into the interior as harmoniously as possible. How can this be done?

  • Use laconic furniture
  • When choosing a chair or armchair, do not pay attention only to office models
  • Use decor to add a more homely and cozy atmosphere (paintings, vases, trays)
  • Hide the wires! They can be twisted and fixed. Nothing is as annoying as an endless web underfoot
  • If every square millimeter is valuable, then compact folding tables may suit you. Or use what is already in your apartment as a workplace. For example, a window sill or a dressing table in the bedroom. True, in this case, the equipment will need to be removed after the end of the "working day".
