Agree that the care of curtains is very important. Care, cleaning and washing methods depend on the fabric the curtains are made of and how they are attached. Here are some top tips from our professionals to make your curtains last as long as possible.

The sun, dust and dirt have a negative effect on textiles. But if it is enough to wash the curtains only 1-2 times a year, then dry cleaning can be done much more often.

  • We recommend dry cleaning the curtains every month.

To do this, you can vacuum the curtains using a textile nozzle and a weak mode of the vacuum cleaner. This should be done especially if the fabric of the curtains is dense and heavy.

  • Dry cleaning should also be done immediately before washing.
  • You can wash curtains only if the fabric is washable. If you bought ready-made curtains, read the fabric information on the label.
  • Tapestry, velvet and velor are risky to wash at home. These are expensive fabrics, and it is better not to risk it, but to take the curtains to a dry cleaner.

In other cases, if the fabric involves ordinary washing, then a couple of other points must be taken into account.

Remove all hooks, rings or eyelets before washing. This must be done regardless of the material they are made of: metal, plastic or wood. In any case, they can damage the fabric or scratch themselves.

Use cool water and a mild detergent.

Wash curtains in a laundry bag, especially if they are lace, tulle or other delicate fabric. Thanks to this, they will be reliably protected.

Avoid direct sunlight when drying curtains. Regardless of the quality of the fabric, its color can be damaged.

After the curtains have dried by about 80%, they can be ironed from the reverse side.

Caring for curtains is not a very complicated process. If you do everything right, they will please you for many years.
