Over 500 years the Mazureel family has owned land in northern Belgium, in the valley of the Lys river. The beauty of this region has long inspired a great number of Flemish artists. In 1850, the family founded a company for the production and processing of flax. The company quickly mastered high craftsmanship, using the knowledge they had already accumulated about various textile processing processes. The second key to the successful development of the Khroma company was its creative and infinitely inventive approach to material creation.

In combination of these two main factors, technical know-how and creativity, the Mazureel factory has gained an international reputation as a manufacturer of high-class decorative products.

Today, designer Guy Mazureel, in accordance with the already established family tradition, continues to build on this unique combination of inspiration and production technology, which allows the Khroma company to remain a recognized world leader in the production of wall coverings, the high quality of which is balanced between the latest innovative developments and the maximum degree of environmental friendliness.

The company's philosophy is passion. Under the motto "Only passion can help you rise higher", the company attaches great importance to quality and artistry. Masureel is fortunate to have a rich family history, as the family has been involved in the West Flemish flax industry - weaving and processing fabrics - for over two centuries. At the end of the twentieth century, Masureel switched to printing high-quality non-woven and textile wallpapers and exquisite interior textiles. Thanks to its own production, Masureel is a 100% Belgian company.

In 2004, the company wanted to start creating, using and distributing its own wallpaper collections. Soon after, the first Masureel brand - Khrôma - appeared. This was followed by the brands Zoom, Guy Masureel, Masureel for Architects and many other projects.

Khrôma is a library of "Stories to Live In". Each collection contains a unique and original story that would connect us to the rich heritage of the many cultures of our planet.
